In a dense jungle, a little rabbit named Coco loved to explore. One day, she reached the edge of a wide river. On the other side, she saw the juiciest carrots she had ever seen. “Oh, I must get to the other side!” she thought.
Just then, a crocodile’s head popped out of the water. “Hello, little rabbit. Are you looking to cross the river? I can help you,” the crocodile said with a sly grin.
Coco knew crocodiles were dangerous, but she didn’t let her fear show. “Oh, thank you! But first, I need to know how many crocodiles are in the river,” she said, pretending to be curious.
The crocodile, feeling proud, called his friends. Soon, a line of crocodiles stretched across the river.
Coco clapped her paws and said, “Let me count you one by one so I can tell the King of the Jungle how many strong crocodiles live here.”
She hopped onto the first crocodile’s back. “One!” she counted. She jumped to the next. “Two!” One by one, she kept counting while making her way across the river.
When she reached the last crocodile, she leaped onto the land and laughed. “Thank you for helping me cross! I wasn’t counting—I was escaping!”
The crocodiles were furious but couldn’t do anything. Coco happily munched on her delicious carrots, proud of her clever trick.
