Once, a boy, called Tembo had a tomcat for a companion, which he took everywhere. Once, Tembo saved a large snake who gave him a mirror as a reward. It was a magic mirror! Tembo commanded the mirror to give him a house and, in a flash, the house was ready!

Tembo went to the King and asked for his daughter’s hand. The King said, ‘If you can build a house in one minute, you can marry my daughter.’ Using his magic mirror, Tembo did what the King wanted! Though unhappy, the King kept his word but sent his soldiers after Tembo. Tembo tricked the soldiers with his magic mirror.

The King learned about a magic mirror and sent an old woman to steal it who replaced the mirror with another one. The King again sent his soldiers and this time they took his wife back to her parents and put Tembo with his cat in jail!

As Tembo sat unhappily, the cat caught a huge rat. The rat helped them to bring back the magic mirror. Tembo got his wife and house back and lived happily ever after.
