The Fox and the Wise Tortoise

The Fox and the Wise Tortoise

One day, in a quiet forest, a cunning fox named Felix was feeling lazy. He didn’t want to hunt for food, so he decided to trick someone into giving him an easy meal.

As he walked through the forest, he spotted a slow-moving tortoise named Tim. “Ah-ha! This will be easy,” Felix thought.

The fox approached the tortoise and said, “Hello, dear Tortoise! I have heard you are the fastest creature in the forest.”

Tim looked up and raised an eyebrow. “Fastest? I don’t think so,” he said.

“Oh, but I insist!” said Felix. “Let’s have a race! If you lose, you must let me eat you.”

Tim wasn’t fooled. He knew the fox was playing a trick. “Alright, but we need a referee. Let’s ask the wise old owl to watch the race.”

Felix hesitated. The owl would surely see through his plan. “Oh, no need for a referee!” Felix said nervously. “I trust you.”

Tim shook his head. “No owl, no race.”

Hearing this, Felix grew scared. If the owl found out, he would warn the other animals about Felix’s tricks. Not wanting to be exposed, Felix quickly ran away.

Tim smiled and said, “Cleverness always wins over trickery.”

Moral: Cleverness can outsmart danger.
