Once, a mouse lived in a hole near a pond. A frog visited him every day. Within a few days, they had become very good friends.
Whenever the frog came to his house, the mouse offered him delicious food that he had stocked in his home.
One day, the frog said to the mouse, “I always come to your place, but you never come to mine. Why don’t you visit my home someday?”
“How can I go to your home? It’s on the other side of the pond and I don’t know how to swim!” said the mouse.
“Look, I have a plan,” said the frog. “I’ll tie you to me with a string. Then, together we can cross the pond.” “That’s a great idea!” said the mouse.
The frog tied its leg to that of the mouse with a string. Together, they started swimming in the water. When they were halfway across the pond, a flying kite spotted the mouse. He flew down and picked the mouse in his claws. As being tied to the mouse, the frog too went up while the kite flew with the mouse.
Moral: An unwise start leads to a sad end.
